Pongoose telescopic poles are some of the most robust and least flexible poles when talking remote clipping devices. We feel that we have struck a good balance with regards to affordability and quality. Simply saying, you get what you pay for. Our poles have a tube wall thickness of approximately 0.8mm, whilst most other poles used in this section of the market use 0.6mm or thinner (resulted in a lot of unwanted flex, especially when fully extended), making the Pongoose poles stronger, less flexible and more controllable when fully extended.
There is a 1/4" UNC (camera thread) insert in the end of each pole, where the head and bracket complex attaches. We use a 1/4" UNC so you can use the pole as a mono-pod for those perfectly fuzz free shots.
There are three different length telescopic poles available in the standard Pongoose series (TP1000+, TP700+ and TP550+) and due to the modular design of the clipsticks they are all interchangeable.
TELESCOPIC POLE SPECIFICATIONS:
And then there is the Pongoose Extender 550+. This is compatible with the shortest telescopic (Telescopic Pole 550+) only. Each extender can be used to add another 55cm to the reach of the PC550+ clipstick, PBS550+ brushing stick or TP550+ telescopic pole. More than one extender can be used due to a male thread being set in one end and a female thread in the handle end. Each extender is approximately 57cm long, including the thread and the silicone dust cap.
NB. Remember to consider the fact that the longer the pole the weaker it is. Even though the extenders can be screwed into each other we suggest having some restraint. A couple of extenders is what we recommend as a good number.
